Swing Arc Eau Claire, WI

Opened 2011

Barstow still smells like pulp if the mill ran last night.

Swing Arc began because Nels Hovland was tired of Eau Claire players buying a poster tempo and then throwing fat shots from Phoenix Park rye.

The first bob was a washer on thread leftover from a Water Street clock repair. The first gallows was pine clamped to a bench. The charter has not changed: trough first, shorten second, videos never.

We still will not hang a driver. The bench traces scoring paths. Cold still stiffens the suspension while the trunk stays shut overnight. That is the whole story, reprinted every thaw.

Swing Arc

A Barstow pendulum bench that traces iron paths the way a clockmaker traces a bob: high point, low point, then whether Chippewa gusts already shoved the beat out of square.
